Coos County Program Coordinator - North Bend Office

Common Ground Mediation seeks a qualified individual for the position of Coos County Program Manager. The Program Manager oversees and develops the mediation services in Coos County. This position works with a team of skilled volunteers to provide mediation services. The incumbent is responsible to be able to work independently and in a team environment with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

PTE: Up to 15 hours per week, $15/hr. Schedule to be determined, some flexibility available.

Location: North Bend, Oregon

Purpose of the Position:

  • This position will work in conjunction with the Executive Director (ED) (housed in Douglas County) to support effective delivery of the following Common Ground Mediation (CGM) programs in Coos County:

    • Coos County courts - residential evictions, small claims

    • Neighbor to Neighbor Community Mediation

    • Manufactured Home and Marina Community Resource Program

    • Other programs as needed and/or developed

  • Act as the Coos County point person for CGM and maintain its North Bend office.

  • Aid ED and Board with outreach, fundraising, and program development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and be on-site for Residential Eviction and Small Claims cases at Coos County Circuit Court I Coquille (schedule volunteer mediators, organize court paperwork and submit reports).

  • Data entry of all cases and statical data.

  • Perform case intake and case assignment of Mobile Home Park and Neighbor to Neighbor mediation cases to volunteers and staff.

  • Provide leadership for volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, retention, and appreciation efforts for Coos County with assistance from ED.

  • Represent CGM at community meetings/events and support community education, outreach and fundraising efforts of Board and ED.

  • Provide grant reporting support to Executive Director.

  • Answer and respond to calls to the Coos County Office during working hours (forward calls to Roseburg office after hours) and handle mail received at North Bend Office.

  • Make bank deposit as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, especially telephone skills.

  • Comfort with public speaking and community relationship building.

  • Ability to perform routine clerical tasks: organize and track information; maintain physical and online filing systems; generate reports and documents; and track emails and phone calls.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products.

  • Successful completion of 32-hour Basic Mediation Training or commitment to enroll in and complete the first available course offered by Common Ground Mediation.

  • Follow all CGM policies and procedures.
